Posted on by Austin Howard in Bikes, Road Rides, Trails | No Comments

The Overland is the most versatile bike found in Foundry’s new line up.  The bike is designed it to excel on long gravel rides, but it’s no slouch on a cyclocross course and will hold its own on a fast training ride. Its titanium frame uses our proprietary 3Al/2.5V titanium tubing and is paired with a Whisky No.9 fork for a healthy balance of strength, weight, and stiffness. Front and rear thru-axles offer additional stiffness while a 41c tire clearance means you can run oversize tires for a more comfortable ride. For enhanced versatility, the Overland includes removable fender mounts on the rear dropout and fork. Just throw your favorite set of fenders on and ride—regardless of the conditions.  We’ve just received our first Overland, come in and check it out today! http://foundrycycles.com/bikes/overland/sram_force_22

Posted on by Austin Howard in Bikes, New, Road Rides, Uncategorized | No Comments

MIPS is a Swedish science and technology company focused on improving helmet safety to deal with the type of crashes we experience in the real world. The MIPS Brain Protection System is a helmet safety technology which significantly improves head protection in the event of a crash. When we fall, our head often impacts at an angle. This angular impact creates a rotation in the brain, which has been proven to have significant potential to cause brain damage. With MIPS, the helmet absorbs much of that damaging rotational energy, offering increased protection. MIPS has no effect on the traditional safety mechanism of the helmet, the Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), so the helmets EPS shell is left to do its job of absorbing radial impacts. How does it work? When the human head is subjected to an angled impact, the brain slides along a membrane on the inner surface of the skull. …

One of our favorite tech features on their mountain bikes is Gravity Tune.  If you’re a really tall or really short rider, you’re going to love this:   “With traditional frame designs, engineers adjust front-centre lengths for each frame size but use a single, fixed rear-centre length.
